Overview

Blankie, the Grandma Ant, and the Dosol Friends lead ordinary, peaceful lives. They love to greet friends, share a cup of tea, and enjoy strawberry jam made more delicious by stirring it clockwise. Their lives are simple and happy, with no serious incidents or conflicts. Blankie can be a little forgetful because her memory fails her sometimes, but the Dosol Friends are always by her side. There is no discrimination here, or prejudice, or evil, or enemies. And yet, life never gets boring, because life is not about having constant drama, but about a series of uneventful, peaceful days. This book’s main message is that we must find our own happiness within those lives.
Tong Tong Morning Yoga: Blankie is always the first to wake up in the mornings. She practices some yoga postures. She forgets how many times she’s done the moves, but her footsteps are made much lighter.
What’s Your Name?: Blankie forgets her friend’s name when she comes over, but she knows she is in the presence of a friend. Blankie loves being with her friends, and has a lovely day.
Choosing Tea: Blankie is having tea with DoDo. Whether it be iced honey tea or hot honey tea, tea always tastes better with a friend!
Blankie’s Hello: ReRe is rather shy and finds it hard to be the first to say hello. Blankie tells her how to step up and say hello even if you might not remember the other person.
Red Spider: The Dosol Friends are afraid of the Red Spider living under the bridge, but Blankie reaches out to Red Spider and listens to her story.
Blankie’s Cooking Class: Blankie and the Dosol Ants make strawberry jam. Blankie has forgotten much of the recipe but she shares the jam, made more delicious after stirring it clockwise, with her friends.
Pieces of Memory: Blankie gathers some wood chips to use to balance the legs of her chair, but when she’s done, she forgets what she was going to do with them. Instead, the Dosol Friends help her to create a library bookcase.
Summer Night Festival: Blankie keeps forgetting the musical notes she has learned. Dosol Friends use colorful stickers and handkerchiefs to help Blankie remember, for a wonderful talent show.
